Probable Route : CNAC from Rangoon to Hong Kong; FAM 14 Honolulu Clipper departed Hong Kong on Jan 23, arriving in San Francisco on Jan 29;
USA domestic airlines to New York; backstamped New York Jan 30 and 31.
Notes : The BOAC Bangkok to Hong Kong feeder service route flew over French Indo China air space. Due to pressure from the Japanese on the French government, this route was suspended in October of 1940.
A new route was needed to connect Hong Kong to the BOAC Horseshoe route. In late October of 1940, the Hong Kong Post Office petitioned to use the China National Aviation Corporation (CNAC)
route to connect the BOAC Horseshoe route to Hong Kong and the Pacific Clipper Service. The CNAC
route flew from Rangoon, Burma to Chungking, China and then on to Hong Kong and back the same route.
